The Gap brand is the number one brand name in top of mind awareness followed by
Levi's in the clothing stores category.

As of the 4th quarter of 2000, the results of Brand Institute's survey show that Gap, Levi's, and Old Navy are the three most recognized clothing brands in North America. The awareness level of the leading brand is more than four times that of the other seven leading clothing store brands. These top 10 brands account for approximately 56% of all responses.

The respondents also evaluated brands listed in the Clothing Stores category on the four key attributes value, variety, quality and availability. The results of this evaluation are available at www.brandpoll.com.
