The second most-recognized analgesic and anti-inflammatory drug in the United States, being recognized by 20.3% of the physicians, is Advil. Advil is sold over-the-counter for minor arthritis pain, headaches, and muscle aches and is marketed by Wyeth (wyeth.com).
Danzen, also known as Dasen, is the most-recognized analgesic and anti-inflammatory drug in Europe, with 17.2% of physicians in that part of the world recognizing the product.

Danzen, the active ingredient of which is serrapeptase, is marketed as a prescription drug for the treatment of inflammation by Takeda Chemical Industries (takeda.co.jp).

The second most-recognized product in Europe is Voltaren, with 15.5% of physicians known the brand. Voltaren is a prescription nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory and antirheumatic agent marketed by Novartis (novartis.com). Motrin and Advil are not among the most-recognized brands in Europe. Danzen and Voltaren are not among the most-recognized brands in the United States.

Naprosyn is the eighth most-recognized analgesic product in the United States and Europe. In the United States, 4.2% of physicians recognized the product, and in Europe, 3.4% of physicians recognized the product. Naprosyn is marketed by Roche (roche.com).

Brand Institute (brandinstitute.com) surveyed more than 2,000 medical professionals in North America and Europe to determine the most-recognizable brands in the pain and inflammation category. The sample consists of physicians and hospital and retail pharmacists.
